The History of Trio Provisions
Trio Provisions was established in 1996 when Dan and Hope Ring realized a need and founded a new provisions company. Dan worked for a local provisions distributor from 1988 until 1996. Initially hired as a sales representative, he held positions of increasing responsibility which eventually led to him becoming a territory manager. In that capacity, he was accountable for multi-sales functions and new business development.

The decision to establish Trio Provisions was based on the desire to capitalize on Dan's training as a butcher, and Hope's flair for customer service. The company began in 1996 with just Dan and Hope performing all the daily tasks. Since then, the business has grown to employ a full staff of 10 full time employees, necessary for their acquired status of being a major provisions distributor in the Lehigh Valley.

Trio Provisions & Smokehaus serves the foodservice trade . This wholesale segment provides products to white tablecloth restaurants, casual dining establishments, pizzerias, institutions and recreational facilities.Trio Provisions distribution covers the eastern half of Pennsylvania, rooted in the Lehigh Valley. The company also covers the areas of Scranton/ Wilkes Barre, Harrisburg, Lancaster, York and Philadelphia.

In addtion, a retail outlet was established on site in the year 2000 and operates under the business name of Trio Country Butcher & Smokehaus. Both businesses are located in East Texas, Pennsylvania which is in the Lehigh Valley/ Allentown metropolitan area.

The name Trio Provisions comes from the Biblical concept of the Holy Trinity, which consists of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The foundation of Trio Provisions business practices comes from Matthew 7:24-25:

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."

The foundation of the company and the basis of our success is Jesus Christ who is the eternal Rock.
